Jessica's Horses
Trigger2003 sorrel quarter horse gelding. I have owned Trigger for the last 16 years of his life, I was given the young colt when I was 11. My father, not knowing much about horses, sent him off for training. This trainer believed in "breaking" their horses and not being partners. This style made him hard in the mouth and even harder in the mind, I have spent many years regaining his trust and retraining him. He has been an amazing partner for the last 16 years, and has improved immensely. He's the trusty steed whatever the job may be. |
El Nino2008 bay Quarter horse gelding. Nino is a son of Wildcat Touchdown out of an unnamed mare. I started training Nino in August 2012 for Chico Everitz, the colt had been used as an illegal racehorse across Missouri, Kansas, and Nebraska as a 2 and 3 year old prior to Chico purchasing him. The beginning was a little rocky for us but after a few weeks of groundwork and few concentrated training sessions the colt didn't just want to bolt when you climbed on him. He had an excellent temperament and was an extremely quick learner. Within a few months he had progressed more rapidly than any of the horses in our training program thus far, we showed in a few pleasure classes and a few barrel races; focusing on slow, steady, and correct instead of just blazing around. Chico trail rode on him when he had the time, which wasn't often, so I trained with him 3 days a week until July 2015. Due to his lack of time, Chico thought it unfair to keep the gelding from his full potential and offered to sell him to me for the price he got him for; he was too good a gelding to let go so we signed papers that day.
