Lesson Structure:
1. Learning the body parts of the horse and the equiptment used on the horse
2. How to safely handle a horse on the ground
3. Grooming; how to and why it is important
4. Tacking up
5. Teach the student how to mount and how to get the horse to move forward and stop
6. Teach balance and posture at a walk, trot, and lope
7. Mounted exercises. Ex.touch toes, touch bridle, touch tail, reach up high, and stand in stirrups
8. Walk over ground poles and do figure eights
9. Dismount and unsaddle. Teach student how to and emphasize that good tack care is important!
After the basics are covered, lessons will be more oriented toward what type of
riding you would like to do. We offer lessons for Barrel Racing, Rodeo, Jumping,
some cutting and reining, as well as bridle-less riding and horsemanship!
